    LaTara Thompkins is the Founder and CEO of L. Thompkins Consulting. She started L. Thompkins Consulting to help entrepreneurs who were having bad experiences with "so called" consultants.     LaTara is a native of Dallas, TX. She is a serial entrepreneur and has worked in the for profit and non profit industries. She is passionate about youth, teens, and the arts. Her experience as a business owner and founder has provided her with the tools and expertise to show others how to start, build, and sustain their business and/or organization. LaTara has assisted a countless number of entrepreneurs and visionaries with bringing their dream, vision, and passion to life. From assisting with developing their thoughts to guiding them through the business process, her creativity and knowledge have proven results.

    LaTara currently operates as the Founder and Artistic Director of N.I.A. Kids Center for the Performing Arts, she's the CEO of her Soldier Girl Brand apparel company, and provides consulting services through L. Thompkins Consulting.

     

    LaTara's business acumen, leadership, and commitment to the community has caught the attention of the media throughout the years. She has been featured on Channel 8 news, local radio stations, featured in Dallas’ largest newspaper, The Dallas Morning News, Voyage Dallas, and on Good Morning Texas. She has received numerous awards. Among them, she was a recipient of Ebony Magazine’s “Unsung Hero” Award and was featured in their magazine in 2010. She received the Community Service Award awarded by the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc.; Women of HOPE Award awarded by the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc.; the I’m Every Woman Activist Award awarded by Stand for Sisterhood; and the Emerge Award for Entrepreneurship. LaTara holds a Master's of Business Administration degree and Master's in Healthcare Administration degree from Texas Woman's University. She is a proud alumna of Prairie View A&M University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree and she is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
